Recently, I faced something that I honestly never expected: someone cloned my Facebook account. Not only did they copy my profile, but they also started sending messages to people pretending to be me. Since I’m not into crypto and I definitely don’t have just two followers, it was easy to spot that this fake account wasn’t me — but still, it was very concerning. Thanks to my friend who sent me this picture, I have a screenshot. Here is the example, in the picture bellow:

What Happened
When I realized what was going on, I decided to warn my community directly. First, I shared a post on my personal profile. That part went okay, and many people were supportive and helped me by reporting and blocking the fake account.
But then I went to my Facebook business page to continue spreading the warning. That’s when things suddenly took a strange turn. As soon as I tried to act, Facebook sent me a message:
“Your account is not visible to people on Facebook, and you can’t use it.”
In other words, my account was suspended right after I tried to protect my community.

Why It’s Concerning
Dealing with the fact that someone cloned my Facebook account is stressful enough. But having my own account suspended while trying to do the right thing makes the whole situation even more frustrating. Facebook has always been my favorite social media platform, and now I’m not even sure if I’ll be able to come back.
What’s Next
For now, I’ll wait and see what happens with my account. In the meantime, I’ll keep you updated here on my blog. Hopefully, I’ll have better news to share soon.
If this ever happens to you, my advice is simple: act fast, let your community know, and don’t hesitate to ask people to report and block the fake profile.
Stay safe online, and thank you to everyone who has supported me during this situation. 💙
