Let me tell you how it all started.
Raised on Rhythm
I was lucky to grow up in a home where music was more than background noise.
My parents played records on vinyl long before CDs came around.
We weren’t just listening — we were feeling the music.
From classic rock to soulful ballads, there was always something spinning.
And there was one more influence that shaped everything…
My Grandmother’s Piano
My grandmother, my father’s mother, played piano in her youth.
Whenever we visited, my brother and I would sneak to her old keyboard.
We didn’t know what we were doing — but we loved how it made us feel.
That keyboard was one of the first tools in my creative journey.
Enter: The Tambura
In primary school, I picked up the tambura — a traditional Croatian string instrument.
It was different. Special. Emotional.
And it became my first real step into playing music with purpose.
That was also when I joined Brodski Tamburaški Orkestar.
Playing in an orchestra taught me about rhythm, harmony, and teamwork.
It also taught me discipline — showing up, practicing, performing.
Switching Strings: The Guitar Chapter
Right before high school, I started learning the guitar.
Something shifted in me — and slowly, I began moving from tambura to guitar.
They both have strings, but the vibe is completely different.
With the guitar, I could express myself in ways tambura didn’t allow.
I could bring it to social gatherings, play around a campfire, jam with friends.
It became my everyday partner.
And let’s be honest — every guitarist starts with those first three chords.
Mine led to a journey that never stopped.
Sharing Music, Teaching Others
Through the years, I had a few gigs, here and there.
But I wasn’t chasing the stage — I was chasing the feeling of creating.
Most of the time, I played for friends, family, and anyone who’d sing along.
I also taught kids and friends how to play guitar.
Seeing someone strum their first song because of my help?
That’s a feeling you don’t forget.
But deep down, I knew I wanted to create something of my own.
The Bedroom Studio Era (Yes, That Moment)
At one point, I started recording in my room.
Just me, my guitar, and a basic mic setup.
Think of it as my own little Billie Eilish moment — minus the fame (for now 😉).
I wasn’t doing it for views or likes — I was doing it because I had something to say.
Melodies, moods, and moments I wanted to capture.
“Can I Use Your Music in My Videos?”
Then one day, a friend asked me that exact question.
He had seen a clip I posted and said,
“Hey Filip, I’d love to use this in one of my YouTube videos. Is that okay?”
That small moment made something click in my mind.
Wait… maybe my music can be part of other people’s stories too.
Maybe it can become part of your digital journey.
